Joe Gibara is a highly regarded hairstylist, with a wealth of experience in fashion, styling and consulting. Having worked in the industry for 30 years, Joe has solidified his reputation as one of Australia’s most sought after stylists; his name synonymous with professionalism, creativity and innovation.
Joe commenced his career as a hairstylist, training in both Sydney and abroad. After a successful stint in London, Joe helped launch the first Toni and Guy salon in Australia. Having quickly established himself as one of Australia’s leading hairstylists, Joe made the transition into session styling.
Joe’s work has appeared in a number of national and international publications including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire and Oyster. Alongside various television and magazine appearances, Joe’s published work has included a regular Makeover Column for The Sunday Telegraph.
Joe remains a key player in Sydney’s fashion scene, working with high profile models and actors in campaigns for such brands as Myer, David Jones and Marcs. He has also provided hair direction for a number of clients including Alex Perry, Leona Edminston, Wayne Cooper and Collette Dinnigan.
Joe continues to build upon an impressive portfolio of clients, working with such names as Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale, Cheyenne Tozzi, Rachel Griffiths, Sarah Murdoch, Miranda Otto and Toni Collette to name a few. He has provided hair styles for such Hollywood Blockbusters as ‘The Matrix’ (Keanu Reeves) and ‘Superman Returns’ (Kate Bosworth), as well as the critically acclaimed Australian film ‘Two Hands’.
With experience in both Hair Styling and Image Consulting, Joe remains ‘ahead of the curve’, a position he maintains through his ongoing dedication to his work.
